The Industry Automation Division of Siemens has widened its range of Simatic S7-1200 controllers with the new S7-1215C.

Compared to the previous systems, this time the working memory capacity is from two to four times higher.

Besides, the CPU is provided with a second Profinet interface, two analogue outputs and other fast outputs to control up to four stepper motors. The processing speed has been further enhanced: the execution time of Boolean operations is for instance 0.085 microseconds.

CPU Simatic S7-1215C provides then the user with 14 digital inputs, 10 digital outputs and two analogue outputs. Like for the other CPU, the basic unit is available in three different versions: DC/DC/DC, AC/DC/relay and DC/DC/relay.

The compact and modular Simatic S7-1200 controllers are used for open-loop and closed-loop control tasks in machines and plants. The application field ranges from the replacement of relays and counters, conveyor systems, pump control and energy management up to tasks distributed in the most complex and advanced automation networks.
